So, who am I?
I’m Lauren, and my love for interviewing bands started way back in university, where I had the chance to sit down with some of my favourites, including Don Broco, Enter Shikari, and Lower Than Atlantis. I got the chance to hear about their creative processes, question them about the stories behind the music, and experience firsthand the passion that fuels their work.
Since then, I’ve carried that same enthusiasm into my career, interviewing up-and-coming bands and building relationships with artists I hope to see rise to the top.
Now, as a journalist you’ll see me writing music reviews for The Daily Express and sharing my opinions as a columnist for The Daily Mirror.
What is The Music Lounge?
The Music Lounge was born out of countless conversations with my partner where we’d spend hours talking about new releases, reliving unforgettable live shows, and debating what was going on in the industry. The name itself reflects that same open, relaxed atmosphere—no pretentiousness, just a shared love of music.
Yes, there will be opinions (I’d hope that’s why you’re here), but if yours differ, great! I want to hear them.
The Music Lounge goes beyond the usual music coverage—it's about building a community where fans and bands can connect through interviews, opinion pieces, and shared experiences.
But it’s not just artists I’ll be chatting to; who took that incredible shot of Taylor Swift? Who wrote that scathing album review? I’ll be speaking to industry professionals who live and breathe music, offering a different perspective on the behind-the-scenes world that keeps it all running.
